Student Assistance Fund
Students experiencing financial hardship can seek a bursary from the ESF Student Assistance Fund or a short-term loan from the ITT Benevolent Fund. These funds are administered on a strictly confidential basis by the Chaplain and the Access Office. It is possible to obtain financial support to help you overcome problems that may be causing academic or personal difficulties. If you are experiencing difficulty sourcing or managing finance you should contact the Access Office or the Chaplain. Third Level Access is co-funded by the Department of Education and Skills and the European Social Fund as part of the ESF Programme for Employability, Inclusion and Learning 2014-2020.

Rights and Responsibilities
All students are required to make themselves aware of their rights and responsibilities as outlined in the student handbook.
The Institute reserves the right to cancel or revise any course in the event of insufficient enrolments. The Institute also reserves the right to change the times and dates of delivery of the programmes offered. In the case of a course being cancelled, students will be notified and all fees will be refunded automatically.
Please also note the following:
The Institute will not accept responsibility for damage or loss to student’s property while on the premises; Students may only attend classes for which they are enrolled and have paid fees in full; Transfers are not permitted between courses once registration has taken place; In the event of a lecture being cancelled at short notice, the Institute will endeavour to inform students of the cancellation in advance where possible. All courses including progression courses are offered subject to demand and resources.
For courses of 15 weeks or more a full refund will be given on withdrawal from the course during the first three weeks. A 50% refund is given during the fourth/fifth weeks and no refund is available after this period.
PLEASE NOTE: Requests for a refund of course fees must be made in writing to the Lifelong Learning Department.
Student Email System
All students will be issued with an IT Tralee email address at registration. Please ensure that you refer to this email address regularly as all communication from the Institute will be sent to your IT Tralee email address. This includes information concerning examination timetables, examination results, class cancellation, projects, placements, job opportunities, etc.
Part-time registered students are permitted to use the library. An official IT Tralee ID card must be produced to gain entry to the library and also to borrow books.

Institute Identity Card
Students registered on courses leading to academic awards, professional awards or other. Institute recognised awards will be issued with an Institute identity card. This card also allows access to the Institute’s library, computer and photocopying facilities.
Students are required to have use of a laptop or PC and internet etc for all online delivery.
Please note all students may be required to attend in person on campus to sit end of semester examinations.
